Cornwall’s peninsula at the south-western most tip of England forms part of the Atlantic Arc. Steeped in history there are Iron and Bronze Age settlements dotted across its landscape, together with a stunning coastline.

Pednvadan Point
The Bay runs from Rame Head in the east to Portwrinkle in the west featuring sheer, high cliffs and long stretches of sandy beaches. The South West Coast Path runs the length of the bay.

Pendower beach is located on the South Cornish coast east of St Mawes at Gerrans Bay.

The fishing port of Mevagissy has white and colour-washed houses perched on the slopes of the hills encircling two harbours. Many of the old fish cellars in the village have been converted to modern use but their old appearance retained.

The harbour wall of this coastal village on the Roseland Peninsula. The village adjoins Gerrans on the east side of the peninsula and  southeast of Truro.

Fishing was traditionally the principal occupation of Polperro families.[3] For centuries the village has been a pilchard fishing and processing port.

St. Ives Harbour
One of only five chain ferries in England this chain ferry crosses the Carrick Roads reach of the estuary of the River Fal. The ferry crosses between the villages of Feock and Philleigh.

On the cliff path above Pennarin Point, a small headland between Nare Head and Carne Beach. Below Pennarin Point is the small inlet of Tregagle's Hole.

St Mawes is a small fishing village located at the end of the Roseland peninsula looking out over the River Fal towards the maritime town of Falmouth. The coastline around St. Mawes was used as the setting for the popular television series Poldark.

St Mawes to Falmouth ferry has been in existence from 1878.
A new ferry, 'The Duchess of Cornwall', was launched in May 2008. St Mawes is a small fishing village located at the end of the Roseland peninsula looking  over the River Fal.

Farming at Nare Head
Nare Head
This village was important in the 17c and 18c as a busy pilchard fishing port. At the beginning of the 20c there were in excess of 50 boats fishing here - now only three boats work from the cove mainly for crab and lobster.

The 13th century St Justus church is built beside the water on a tidal creek and is on the site of a 5th century chapel.

St. Just in Roseland a 13th century church, set in gardens planted with semitropical shrubs and trees, many of which are species rare.

Rock pools and cliffs at Pendower have been designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

The main rocks of the area are of the Devonian period and are mainly mudstones altered into weak slates, they are strongly inclined To the east of the beach a fault divides the rocks between the Portscatho formation and the Pendower formation.

Several bronze urns have been placed in these gardens. The 17th century urns came from a French chateau and were designed by Louis Ballin, the goldsmith to Louis XIV.
Lanhydrock
The Saints Way was a route used by traders, missionaries and pilgrims during the Dark and Middle Ages as a way of travelling from Padstow to Fowey. The picture is taken from St. Catherine's Castle looking towards Gribben Head.

Pendinas means fortified headland. On the island is St. Nicholas Chapel used by the 'Preventive Men' who watched for smugglers from here. An isthmus connects the island to the mainland

The Hamoaze is an estuarine stretch of water at the point where the tidal River Tamar, the River Tavy, and the River Lynher meet, prior to entering Plymouth Sound and flowing past Devonport Dockyard belonging to the Royal Navy.

The castle, originally built by the Normans on a spur, overlooking the river valley, stands one mile upriver from Lostwithiel.

Situated deep in a valley half a mile from Veryan is a refurbished medieval water mill, Housing a small mill museum and a country crafts shop. It has a working wheel fed by the mill pool.

This mill is a where corn was ground for the local community. It is a restored Mill and flour is produced regularly and is available for sale.
